I'd liked to clarify that the X-rays were not only of the spine, but also of the pelvic area. Tissue tumors do not show up on X-rays. On the witness stand the Doctor admitted that he used the X-rays to reassure me that I did not have cancer. This is clearly a violation of the Ed Law and the Doctor should have had some disciplinary action for going outside the scope of his profession. He openly admitted at trial, quote, "I don't know if you can diagnose cancer on a plain X-ray".
Yet he took my life in his hand and I had incurable cancer for his failure to refer me to a medical doctor.

X-rays are a form of radiation. This kind of radiation is invisible. X-rays are used to make "pictures" of the bones and organs.Yes, X-rays are generally safe.If your doctor finds you need X-rays for a medical problem or injury, it's okay to have them..

No one in their right might would ask a spinal specialist if they had some 'abdominal' cancer because they had abdominal pain. There is no reason to ask a dentist if your leg pain is cancer, either. It just doesn't make any real sense.

Likewise, you cannot "see cancer" on an x-ray, but you can see evidence of cancer which affects the bones. Irregardless, the Doctor of Chiropractic should have been explicit but he likely didn't think it was reasonably or necessary to have to S-P-E-L-L it out for the patient. Anyone really worried about cancer should see a cancer specialist.

Spine x-rays "collimate" out areas other than the spine in order to limit radiation exposure to organs, like the appendix. And x-rays do not show soft tissue or organs.

The lawsuit sounds frivolous and exploitative to me.

The chiropractor saying "I can't see evidence of cancer on your x-ray" does not mean someone doesn't have cancer. Similarly, if I were to tell a patient that I could see no evidence of clinical depression in the grill of their car, that patient should take that with a tiny grain of salt.

Even more noteworthy is that the abdomen and the appendix are not necessarily the same thing, and the appendix can be removed with little negative effect in most cases. I doubt this person will miss that organ. What are the damages they are suing for that they feel they deserve to sue a chiropractor who checked their spine a year earlier?

She was far more negligent in not seeing a cancer specialist than was her chiropractor for not holding her little hand and walking her like a baby through the fact that he is not an oncologist. The chiropractor probably incorrectly assumed that she knew she was in a chiropractor's office, and not the office of an oncologist. If she were truly concerned she would have seen an oncologist.

If the chiropractor did not tell her to see a specialist, he or she was remiss in that regard, but that doesn't excuse the fact that the patient should surely have known that a cancer specialist was the person to ask such questions to, and not to your spine doctor - especially if it isn't spinal cancer being discussed.

very interesting article

jefferson city chiropractic

X ray are very hazardous when it is not in proper used, because it produced too much radiation on our body and there maybe a bad effect for that.

louisville chiropractic

Maybe cancers are too dangerous to be cured by a chiropractor. Cancers are very fatal, so cancer patient should go to a doctor who specialized by cancer. Chiropractic treatment can cure pains on our back but cancer was still on process of discovering if it is curable by chiropractic treatment or not.
